The Biggest Mistake People Make Before They Ever Step Foot in a Dealership

Most people think the hardest part of buying a vehicle is negotiating.

It's not.

Others think it's getting approved for financing.

That's not it either.

The biggest mistake I see people make happens before they ever walk through the dealership doors.

They fall in love with a payment instead of a vehicle.

I hear it almost every day:

"I just want to stay around $400 a month."

There's nothing wrong with having a budget. In fact, you should.

But focusing only on the monthly payment can cause you to overlook things that matter much more.

Ask yourself these questions instead:

  • Is this vehicle reliable?
  • Does it fit my family's needs?
  • What will maintenance cost?
  • How long do I plan to keep it?
  • Is it holding its value?
  • Will I still love it three years from now?

A payment lasts a month.

The vehicle is something you'll live with every day.

Don't rush the decision.

Take the extra time to compare vehicles, ask questions, and drive more than one option.

Sometimes the vehicle you weren't even considering ends up being the perfect fit.

That's what I'm here for.

Whether you're shopping for your first car, upgrading your truck, or looking for something with more room for your family, my goal is to help you make a decision you'll be happy with long after you drive off the lot.

If you ever have questions—even if you're just starting to shop—I'd be happy to help.
